アメリカから家族と一緒に岩国市へやって来たハリネズミの『クゥィリアム』くん。

ちょうど2年前にお見送りをご一緒させて頂いたご家族さまよりご縁を頂きました。
クゥィリアムくんのご家族はアメリカの方なので、ご紹介頂いたご家族さまに通訳をして頂きながらセレモニーを進めていきました。
お母さんの誕生日にお父さんからプレゼントとして家族に迎えてもらったクゥィリアムくん、名前の由来は、最初から家族の身体によじ登ったり、ソファーの背もたれに登ったりとワンパクぶりから、学生時代に習った冒険小説から引用された冒険者の用な性格から付けてもらった名前です。
文化の違うお見送りですが、めるものお見送りを心良く受け入れ頂き、初めてのお骨上げも経験していただきましたが、一つ一つ愛おしいく納めて頂けました。
ご家族の手により一欠片も残さず納めてもらえたクゥィリアムくん、これからも家族のそばで見守ってくれ、また家族として帰ってきてくれます。
この度は、ワンパクハリネズミのクゥィリアムくんとのご縁を頂き、お見送りをご一緒させて頂きありがとうございました。

English Translation:

Quilliam, a hedgehog, came to Iwakuni City from the United States with his family.
We were introduced to Quilliam’s family through another family whose farewell ceremony we had attended together two years ago. Since Quilliam’s family is from the U.S., we conducted the ceremony with the help of an interpreter provided by the introducing family.

Quilliam was given to the family by his father as a birthday gift for the mother. His name comes from his adventurous personality—he would climb on the family members and even on the back of the sofa. Inspired by an adventure novel the family remembered from their school days, the name reflects his spirited and adventurous nature.

Though it was a farewell ceremony in a culture different from ours, Quilliam’s family accepted it warmly. They also experienced their first time handling the remains, carefully and lovingly placing each part. Thanks to their hands, not a single piece was left behind. Quilliam will continue to watch over the family and, as part of them, will always return to their hearts.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to accompany Quilliam, the playful hedgehog, and his family during this farewell.
